I too fell in love with work done by York, and I understand the aformentioned feelings about him, but I don't believe his neice will ever compare to him.
The guys at Mystic were the only ones who approached me to talk to me as soon as I entered their studios, out of all the ones I went to (exception: Tainted Skin...) and all three of the artists in the building greeted me and were very helpful. I love my tat and plan on having a series completed by the owner of the 10th store, followed by a smaller series by the artist (side note: the two Mystic runners are brothers-in-law) at the downtown store." destini 9/27/03

"well I am a local resident and have been here 17 years I have many tattoos but I would never trust anyone from mystic rhythms. The owner and tattoo artist was in and out of jail for drugs and has had numerous problems with sterilizing his equipment, obviously he doesn't care about anyone's health. And Tom Sturgis from, I believe owns Rumors and the parlor once known as Tattoo York's on 10th. Well he claims to have 16 years of experience and the funny thing is that he is 28. When did he start tattooing, when he was 12, please. Tom, got in trouble also for an event we have here for bands called wheatstock, he tattoo a bunch of under agers without parents or their permission, also hadn't cleaned his equipment there. And at this event, wheatstock, there is drugs, drinking, everything.... The only place in great falls that I went to was York Frederickson's, because he did most of mine except one, and that was done by his niece, Lela, he was excellent and I watched him bring out his needles in new wrapping (sterilized) and saw him clean them. He was great, but as soon as his niece opens another one, which will be in honor of York, that is where I will go, until then I will wait. York also had a clean environment, even when the state said there couldn't be any more smoking in the buildings. York will always be my favorite and this is why I am telling you about the other places like he asked me too before he died." Cattrues 6/23/02
