| Zach Attack Motorcycle Charity Ride

| The Butler Chapter of the Hogs is helping my family to organize a
motorcycle charity ride this summer for my nephew, Zachary Balog, who
lives in Cranberry. He is seven years old and suffers from a very rare,
neurological, degenerative, and fatal childhood disease called Batten
Disease, which so far has caused Zachary to lose his vision, his ability
to talk, his ability to walk, his ability to feed himself, as he now is
nourished through a feeding tube, and he suffers from seizures and poor
motor skills. We support a non-profit organization called Nathan's Battle
Foundation, named after another boy who has Batten Disease, and this
foundation is raising money to fund a formal gene therapy project at
Cornell University. This is a potential cure for this nightmare of a
disease and all money raised is applied directly to this ongoing research
project. We have had several fundraising events over the past two years
and we call our events "Zach Attack!" to get the attention of people by
using a catchy name. We are calling this event "Zach Attack Motorcycle
Charity Ride!" We are finishing our flier now and we will be printing
thousands of copies this weekend. These are the ride details:
When: Saturday, June 14, 2003 - rain or shine!
Where: Registration at Zanotti Motors in Butler on Route 8, where the ride
begins, and ride ends at Lernerville
Speedway in Sarver on Rt. 356
Time: Registration at 9:00a.m. and ride begins at 10:00a.m.
Cost: $20 per driver, $15 per passenger
Fun stuff: food and refreshments at the end,
50/50 raffle, door prizes, a very nice Chinese
auction, and the band
Cadillac Mac will perform! Also, meet your friends
at the end at Lernerville! - $5 for non-riders to get in at
Lernerville!
Note: "Believe in the power of helping.......raise $100 in donations,
bring to registration, and you ride for FREE!"
